The local music scene has experienced a recent revival of live music with many new bands playing at live gigs around the island in hotels and pubs covering such diverse tastes as rock, soul,jazz, and rhythm and blues.

Local fans can also enjoy all their favourite bands in two summer-time open air concerts, one at the Vale Earth Fair, which is held in the ruins of the Vale Castle,and another held in the grounds of Sausmarez Park.This event is sponsored by Wave Telecom and Island FM in aid of local charities and usually supported by well known bands from the UK.

If nightclubs are more your thing there are several to choose from in St Peter Port each with its own house style and atmosphere, alternatively for a quieter yet sophisticated night on the town there are cocktail and tapas bars to take your pick from. Naturally the real ale drinkers haven't been forgotten and Guernsey has numerous old fashioned pubs and country inns where you can enjoy a drink, a decent bar meal, a game of darts and maybe participate in the local game of euchre.
