Island life

In Guernsey, you’ll enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and warmer climate. You’ll never be more than a couple of miles from a sandy beach - and the journey to work is usually a matter of five or ten minutes.

Just eight miles by five, the island is home to around 60,000 people. Alderney is much smaller, with a population of 2,400. The car-free island of Sark is smaller still and Herm is simply tiny!

But that’s the appeal. Island life is not for everyone - you’ll either love it or hate it. At Guernsey Health and Social Services Department, we believe you’re going to love it.
