Are you a resident?
Guernsey’s small population means the Department must focus on attracting trained clinical staff from overseas. However, we do have opportunities for local residents - including a 3-year course leading to a Diploma in Nursing.
The Health and Social Services department employs over 2000 staff, including nursing, technical, allied health professionals, housekeeping, catering, portering, laundry, corporate and adminstrative services. Vacancies are advertised in the local press and on this website and are only open to local residents.
A 3-year full-time course leading to a Diploma in Nursing is available through the Institute of Health and Social Care Studies. Students successfully completing the course qualify as a Registered Nurse. A further 2 years part-time study is available to a BA (Honours) Nursing Studies. Further information is available from the Course Administrator, tel: 01481 707445
The Pathology Department supports local A level students with a bursary scheme through university to read Biomedical Sciences.
Locally qualified residents who wish to return to Guernsey are advised to contact the Human Resources Department to discuss opportunities.
