JOHN HENRY COURT
John Henry Court is a new, purpose built staff accommodation block completed in 2006.
Situated on the Princess Elizabeth Hospital site, John Henry Court is just a short 15 minute walk from the pretty town of St Peter Port and is on the main bus route into town.
Accommodation for residents consists of 42 single bed sits and 24 one-bedroom flats with double beds. Each unit of accommodation includes its own kitchen, with quality fitted cabinets, equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker, hob and appliances, as well as ensuite toilet and shower room. TV and telephone points are provided in each unit, should residents wish to subscribe to their own personal service. Residents will only need to provide their own towels
Each floor in the bed-sit block has two communal living/dining rooms, one at each end of the corridors, lending a homely feel.
Each floor of each block will have its own communal laundry room equipped with 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and ironing boards/irons. These facilities will be operated by tokens which may be purchased from the cashier’s office situated in the Princess Elizabeth Hospital main foyer, or the Porters’ Lodge out of hours.
As security is paramount, access to the building is through one main entrance, which will be locked at all times. Entry is gained using an automated system.
Please note to qualify for residency of a self-contained flat, both partners have to be employed by Health and Social Services and not locally qualified in relation to the Guernsey Housing Laws.

BED SITS CONSIST OF:
* Bedroom/lounge
* Separate kitchen and shower room
The bed sits have fitted wardrobes, storage and a single bed plus a work station with provision for telephone and TV points with an option for Satellite television, should the resident wish to subscribe.
Residents will only need to provide their own towels.
The 2010 monthly rent will be £499 (collected monthly, by deduction from salary). This figure does include utility costs.
FLATS CONSIST OF:
* Lounge
* Bedroom
* Separate kitchen and shower room
The flats will have fitted wardrobes, storage and a double bed. The sitting room will have a work station with provision for telephone and TV points with an option for Satellite television, should the resident wish to subscribe.
Residents will only need to provide their own towels
2-person flat, 2010 rent set appropriate to couples’ joint income and to be split equally between each resident:
* 1 at Band 6 with partner at any Band - £854.50
* 1 at Band 5 and the other equivalent or lower - £740.50
* 2 at any Band lower than 5 - £683.50
* 1 resident at any Band - £598
These figures do however include utility costs. Rents are collected monthly, by deduction from salary.
